Construction: First Edit

Creating a rough edit after the filming process enabled us to see if the film opening would work, and if we need to re-shoot any parts in order to add to continuity or if the shot wasn't clear enough. This is a good indicator that our idea worked, therefore we will continue to develop it further through editing and the construction process. We will also begin to add sound to create the teen horror film atmosphere.

Here are some images of the construction of the rough edit:

Planning: Mise-En-Scene 2

As Crystal is very popular in school she believes she has to keep up with fashion and trends to keep up her popularity status in school. She wears very girly outfits and is very much a 'Daddy's girl', this is shown throughout her outfit as she wears wedges and glasses which are all designer. She will also wear a lot of makeup to try and hide her insecurities. She always has her handbag with her as she needs makeup top ups constantly to make sure she looks 'perfect'.

For Crystal's room, we have decided to use Megija's room since it is the 'girliest' one out of our whole group. It's very pink and has a gentle feel to it. We are going to be using a Macbook as a prop for when Crystal is sitting on the bed scrolling through social media. In association with social media, I will create a fake account for Crystal's character where there will be photos of her and her boyfriend (Scott) and other friends, in order to make it seem more believable and allow the audience to get a feel for her personality through this, as well as have an insight into her life. We're going to take photos ourselves for this account so that they're in a way that we want the characters portrayed.

Loris is going to supply her own clothing, jewellery and accessories for her character portrayal of Crystal as well as doing her own make up and hair. She'll have a sequin top with blue jeans on, paired with chelsea boots and a puffer jacket which will be completed by her handbag, which she picks up off the bed post later on in the scene.

Planning: Location 2

Location 1:

This would be the room for our character Crystal as it's one of the most girlies rooms out of our group. It has been decided that this would be the suitable room for Crystal as its pink and girly which is a clear representation of her. The floral wallpaper and bedsheets highlight this and the gentle pink and blue pastel colours could symbolise her personality of how sweet she is. Also on the chest of drawers there is a frame where we could print out an image of the couple as part of mine-en-scene props to highlight Crystal's and Scott's relationship. The bed is where crystal will be sitting/laying while clothes shopping on her laptop which is a MacBook to show how she is up to date with the latest trends and technology. Where she suddenly gets an anonymous text scheduling a rendezvous in the next location.

Location 2:

This is the location she is asked to meet at by the anonymous person who text her. This location is also our previous one however we believe it really worked in terms of secluded location and creepiness and generally follows teen horror film conventions. However, this time we will only use the bridge as Crystal will sit on there waiting for her mysterious messenger. There will be shots of Crystal getting uncomfortable as she hears sounds in the distance. The audience would also see point of view shots of the location as Crystal looks around nervously.
